This session helps you transition from managing assignments and grades in Blackboard to using Canvas tools effectively. We’ll walk through creating assignments with appropriate submission types, due dates, and availability windows, then explore how to organize your grading with assignment groups and apply rubrics for consistent evaluation. You’ll learn how to use SpeedGrader for providing text, audio, or video feedback and see what the grading experience looks like for students. We’ll also review how weighted grading works in Canvas to help you plan your course grading strategy. Support resources for early adopters will be provided.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Create assignments in Canvas with appropriate settings for submission and due dates.
- Organize grades using assignment groups and weighted grading.
- Apply rubrics for consistent scoring across assignments.
- Use SpeedGrader to provide feedback and review the student view of grades.
