YuJa Panorama Hands-On Workshop: Practical Strategies for Improving Accessibility in Your Course Materials

Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring YuJa Panorama, UIC’s new accessibility tool for digital course content. Replacing Blackboard Ally, Panorama integrates with both Blackboard and Canvas to help instructors improve accessibility in their courses. This session will focus on practical strategies for identifying and fixing common accessibility issues using Panorama. We’ll walk through real examples of course materials and demonstrate how to interpret accessibility scores, add alt text, and apply recommended fixes. Participants are welcome to follow along in their own courses or observe and ask questions.
This workshop supports UIC’s efforts to meet the Title II digital accessibility mandate, which requires all public universities to ensure digital content is accessible by 2026.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Interpret accessibility scores in YuJa Panorama.
- Remediate issues in course documents.
- Add alternative text to images.
