SUMMARY:Canvas Early Adopters Workshop #1: Getting Started in Canvas
DESCRIPTION:This session is designed to help early adopters get comfortable using Canvas while drawing comparisons to familiar Blackboard tools. We?ll start with an overview of the Canvas dashboard and course navigation settings, highlighting how they differ from Blackboard?s course menu. You?ll learn how to structure your course with Modules instead of folders, create and edit Pages using the Rich Content Editor, and manage student communication through Inbox, Announcements, and Discussions. The session also introduces the basics of the Canvas Gradebook, including setting up weighted columns, as well as resources and support available for early adopters.    By the end of this session, participants will be able to:    · Navigate the Canvas dashboard and course settings to locate essential tools.    · Organize course content using Modules and Pages with the Rich Content Editor.    · Identify basic communication tools and Gradebook features for initial course setup.    · Set up a basic course homepage. | Event post: https://learning.uic.edu/events?page_id=3718
