About

Erin joined LTS as Assistant Director of Instructional Design and Academic Technology in 2025. She has worked at UIC since 2020, first as an Instructional Designer in the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence, and later as Manager of Quality Assurance and Instructional Designer at the Instructional Design and Media Production Studio. Always looking for new challenges and opportunities to engage with faculty and staff across the UIC community, Erin has presented several large-scale workshops for campus leadership and departments and has led multiple high-stakes online course development projects during her time at UIC.

Prior to joining UIC, Erin worked as an editor, curriculum designer, instructional designer, and university-level music instructor. She holds a B.A. in Music with a minor in Anthropology from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Music in Ethnomusicology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Learning Design and Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She also holds an eLearning Instructional Design Certificate from UC Irvine, Digital Accessibility for Educators (DAE) and Master of Online Learning Administration certificates from the University of Illinois Springfield, and an Applying the Quality Matters Rubric certification from Quality Matters.

Her professional interests include teaching and learning with generative AI, applying learning analytics to support continuous quality improvement across modalities, Universal Design for Learning, gamification, culturally relevant pedagogy, liberatory design, intercultural competence, teaching locally relevant content, and open educational resources (OER).

Erin enjoys spending time with her family, walking on the 606, and finding new places to explore throughout Chicago.
