Lucid for Education
Description
Lucid for Education is a visual collaboration suite integrated within Canvas that includes Lucidchart and Lucidspark. These tools allow instructors and students to create flowcharts, mind maps, and collaborative whiteboards directly within their course environment. Through the Canvas LMS, UIC faculty and students have free access to the full Lucid suite to support engaging, visual learning.

Lucidchart: Structured Visuals
Lucidchart is designed for creating structured diagrams to illustrate complex ideas or research methods.

Accessing Lucid via Canvas
- Navigate to your Canvas course site.
- Select Lucid (Whiteboard) from the course navigation menu.
- Note: If it is not visible, instructors may need to enable it in Course Settings > Navigation.
- Verify Role & Age: When prompted, select your role (Teacher or Student) and confirm you are over 13.
- Connect Account: Click Sign Up or Register to create your free UIC Lucid account linked to your university email.
- Grant Access: Select Grant Access to allow the integration to sync with your Canvas account.
