We're excited to introduce the Blackboard Ultra AI Design Assistant, a powerful tool designed to simplify course creation and enhance your teaching experience. This tool is going live in Blackboard Ultra courses only on September 22 after business hours.

The new Blackboard AI Design Assistant, developed in partnership with Microsoft, is a powerful set of tools that aids instructors in creating and designing course content, including course image sourcing with Unsplash, assignment rubric suggestions, quiz question suggestions based on a document, and creation of learning modules based on a list such as textbook chapters covered in the course.

Features of the AI Design Assistant

  • Integration with Unsplash, a royalty-free image service
  • Suggests keywords for image searches and generates copyright-free images to enhance the course appeal

Rubric Generation

  • Generates suggested grading rubrics based on assignments and instructor's expectations
  • Streamlines the process of creating rubrics, allowing focus on teaching and providing feedback to students.

Quiz Question Generation

  • Offers suggestions for formative quiz questions, reducing instructor workload
  • Promotes the implementation of low-stakes assessments
  • Introduces diverse question formats with the "Inspire me!" question type

Learning Module Generation

  • Generates learning modules derived from lists, such as textbook chapter indexes
  • Aids instructors in the organization of their courses, allowing them to craft engaging learning journeys for their students
  • Recommends course structure, module titles, descriptions, and even relevant images based on course content
