Build a brain contest

Learning Technology Solutions (LTS) invites you to participate in an innovative challenge: Build A Second Brain using the Quivr platform. This competition is designed to inspire creativity and technological advancement by enabling participants to create AI assistants known as “Brains.”

About Quivr

Quivr is a cutting-edge platform that allows users to develop specialized AI assistants. These assistants can connect to various data sources, directly interacting with needed information. Whether you require a code snippet, a concise summary, or a creative twist, these Brains, leveraging the latest RAG technology, are designed to meet your needs.

Contest Overview: “Build A Second Brain”

Participants are invited to submit their ideas for a Brain, detailing its functionality and intended use. The top 20 submissions will receive free access to Quivr’s platform for three months to build and test their Brain.

Submission Requirements

1. Brain Blueprint

  • Concept: Describe your Brain’s purpose and mission. How will it assist students or solve problems? Provide a detailed roadmap of its development, highlighting key moments and milestones.
  • Data Sources: Specify the data sources your Brain will utilize, such as spreadsheets, websites, PDFs, APIs, or databases.
  • Team: List the team members involved in developing the Brain, including their roles and contributions.

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following metrics:

1. Meaningfulness/Usefulness

  • Impact: Does the Brain address a significant problem or need? For example, a Brain that helps students organize their study schedules to improve academic performance.
  • Practicality: Can it be realistically implemented and used by others?

2. Innovation/Creativity

  • Originality: Is the Brain introducing new ideas or functionalities?
  • Inventiveness: Does it offer something novel or unique that hasn’t been seen before?

3. Adaptability

  • Flexibility: Can the Brain be adapted to different scenarios or user needs? For instance, a Brain designed to help with coding that can switch between different programming languages.
  • Scalability: How well can it grow or be expanded to serve more users or additional functions?

Showcase: Technology Solutions Spring Event

Selected Brains will be showcased at a Technology Solutions event next spring, where they will be evaluated by peers, IT professionals, and faculty. The top six Brains will be recognized and rewarded.

Rewards

  • Top 3 Submissions: Each winner will receive a one-year subscription to Quivr.
  • 2nd Top 3 Submissions: Each will receive a six-month subscription to Quivr.

Submission Details

  • Deadline: All submissions are due by Thursday, October 31, 2024, 11:59 PM.
  • Notification: Participants will be notified of the results by December 31, 2024.
